Frequently Asked Questions
There are like five different skin treatments listed — how do I know which one I actually need?
Honestly, that’s what the consultation is for. Nobody expects you to walk in already knowing if you need a chemical peel versus microneedling versus a facial. Tell us what’s bugging you — acne scars, dullness, fine lines, whatever it is — and we’ll point you toward what actually makes sense instead of just upselling you on everything.
Can I combine treatments, like get a peel AND microneedling in the same visit?
Sometimes, yeah, depending on what your skin can handle that day. We’re not going to stack two aggressive treatments back to back and leave your face angry for a week. But pairing something gentler with another service, or spacing two treatments a few weeks apart as part of a bigger plan, that’s pretty common.
How is this different from going to one of those med spas in Bowling Green that does everything too?
There’s a handful of good med spas around Bowling Green and Glasgow, no question. The difference here is we’re nurse practitioner led, so the same person planning your skin treatment can also talk to you about hormones or weight if that’s relevant — a lot of places that’s a totally separate provider, or it’s not offered at all.
Is there actual downtime with any of these, or can I go straight back to work?
Depends on the treatment. Something like a light facial, you’re good to go right after. A deeper chemical peel or more intense microneedling session, you might be a little red or flaky for a day or two. We’ll always tell you upfront what to expect so you’re not blindsided the morning after.
Do these treatments actually work or is it mostly marketing?
We get why you’d ask that — the skincare industry is full of hype. But these specific treatments, peels, microneedling, IPL, they’ve got real clinical backing behind them. That said, results vary person to person, and one session isn’t usually a miracle. Most of what you see in before-and-afters is from a series of treatments, not just one.
I'm coming from Glasgow or Holland — is it worth the drive for skin stuff specifically?
We hear this a lot, honestly. People weigh whether driving into Scottsville is worth it versus something closer. What we’d say is come in for a consultation first and see how it feels — a lot of our regulars from Glasgow, Holland, even as far as Hendersonville started exactly that way, just curious, and kept coming back because of how the visits actually go.
Do I need to do anything before my appointment, like stop using certain products?
Usually yes, especially before peels or microneedling — we’ll tell you to lay off retinol or any harsh exfoliants for a few days beforehand. Sun exposure matters too. We’ll go over all of it when you book so there’s no guessing.
